CTI Logistics Goes National

The directors of CTI Logistics Limited are pleased to announce the acquisition of GMK Logistics, a leader in the warehousing and distribution of floor coverings throughout Australia. With warehouses in Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, GMK provides CTI with a national footprint from which to grow its transport and logistics businesses.

GMK Logistics, formally G.M. Kane and Sons, was founded in 1962 as a NSW general freight carrier. In 1985 the company moved from being a general freight carrier to specialise in providing services to the floor covering industry.

Today GMK Logistics is the market leader in floor covering distribution providing a full end to end service tailored to its customers’ needs, including, interstate line haul, warehousing, measurement and cutting to size, through to delivery to retailers or direct to the end customer.

GMK Logistics CEO Derek Lightfoot, who also ran the national express freight business StarTrack as CEO under the ownership of Qantas and Australia Post, has been retained to run GMK Logistics from its Sydney headquarters.

In time, our objective will be to establish (alongside GMK) a CTI branded presence in each state in the transport and logistics disciplines we have expertise in, namely, couriers, parcel distribution, taxi trucks, contract fleet management and warehousing. This will be achieved by organic growth and acquisitions.
